Fratzonic ideas

If you had the ability to choose any sound your Fratzonic chambered exhaust played what would it be?

Multiple suggestions are fine.

I'm fine with it as is actually. Just let me pick sound level independent of drive mode. And let me choose startup sound independent of driving sound. I would appreciate a more subtle startup sound option.

I'd like more choices for startup for sure. There needs to be a "pedestrian warning" sound, that's legally mandated but there's no requirement otherwise, so there's flexibility.

The implementation of the Fratzonic sound is a little flawed, but it generally works really well. Yes, the cut between drive modes is way too abrupt, yes, I'd like more control of what plays when and how loud, and I do find it a little drone-y around 30-50 mph but I generally like it a lot.

I'm sure someone on the internet can slap together a sick sound pack that sounds futuristic but still like a car.

I'd want to get rid of the start-up turbine noise though, I hate that aspect of the Daytona.
I LOVE the turbine sound. As I say, that was sampled from the '63 Turbine Car so if anything, I want more of it. Get the EV to lean into something that sounds more "futuristic" instead of pretending to be something it isn't.

After watching the video of the update to the unit for the pedestrian sound safety recall, I'd be shocked if the sound palette could be dynamically changed to a random user audio file. Looks like the frazonic audio stuff is embedded deep in the system and not in U-Connect software, so any feature update would likely involve a 2-hour process at the dealer -> $$

But here's my wishlist, (echoing much of others above).

option to kill the startup start-up vroom. That startled everyone else in my family and made them give the whole feature a thumbs down. plus, my neighbors won't want to hear it every morning. (why its any different than dealing with an ICE startup vroom, is a different issue, but my neighbors that already have complimented the car know it's an optional sound, so they probably would prefer not to hear it all the time.)

Option to adjust the volume of the vibration motors so I can "feel" the rumble more. Didn't know that they were there until I read this: The Elaborate Fake Exhaust System In The Electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Is So Gloriously Stupid It's Genius - The Autopian

It would be cool if it simulated gear shifting and even gave the car a little kick when a shift occurred. I'm sure the Dodge engineers debated this.

I don't mind the turbine sound, but would be nice to have it optional.

I don't really want any novelty sounds, or user loadable mp3s etc... Having a few different curated engine sounds to select from would be cool.

A way to have more sound internal vs external, i.e. turn down the external speakers, but turn up the vibration and internal speakers. I'm assuming that some of the sound is coming from the internal audio system. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Overall, I like the Fratzonic Chamber Exhaust feature more than I thought I would.

#1 WISH - make it possible to add a shortcut to toggle the exhaust sound off and on.

The interface in the radio should give me the following options:
1. Startup Sound ON/OFF
2. Startup Sound Volume: Adjust between 1 to 5, being 5 the loudest legally possible.
3. Startup Tone*
4. Engine Sound ON/OFF
5. Engine Sound Volume: Adjust between 1 to 5, being 5 the loudest legally possible. I see a lot of people who want to have the option for the Track/Drag volume to be set in other driving mode, but in reality they cannot do that as that is not permitted outside track use. So 5 here is not as loud as Track/Drag for legal reasons. We can cry as much as we want, but we cannot demand them to do something they cannot do.
6. Engine Tone*

*The tones should have some options coming from the factory, like:
  • EV ominous sound
  • EV Spatial Sound
  • Modern Muscle
  • Classic Muscle
  • Deep
  • Rich
  • H-Pipe
  • X-Pipe
  • Ice Cream Truck (I am still laughing on that one)
  • etc.

Besides the factory provided tones, it would be great if they provide the ability for people to create their sounds and allow us to download tones.

Also, allow the driving modes to be associated with the selection done.

I like having the ability of turning the sound on and off. The sound is cool, my suggestions would be a hard switch to turn it on and off, and to be able to set the sound level independent from drive modes. If I could pick an additional sound it would be the hum of like a spaceship from old sci-fi movies from the past. All the other suggestions are good too.

The sound should be synced with the paddles so increasing regen sounds like a downshift and converse for the + paddle.

I've been approached by about 10 people asking about the Frat this past week and they all say they like it. I even had a Chevy dealership service manager ask me to show him what's under the hood. Unfortunately, the frunk was empty. o_O

I need to 2nd this! I ended up loving the stock auto and sport sound of Fratzonic while driving and decelerating a lot more than I thought would. But the startup sound volume is really over the top to me in many situations i think there might be a loose panel or something in the back of my RT because I can hear some panel wobble or other kind of feedback responses when the bass peaks makes the effect feel really cheap for a rather expensive vehicle. just an option to lower its volume by 20% would be great.

Ideally, I think giving users total control over what sounds they want for startup / shutdown and driving modes would give the customer base the level of customization that might feel to be missing from tinkering with ICE vehicles.

@DodgeCares <- add this feature and I promise you would sell a ton more of these for the meme effect alone.

Dunno what speaker is in there but it is weak and should tie to the 10” sub where possible.
Weak? It's already potentially illegally loud, it goes up to 126db (no distance for measurement given), NTSB regulation limit to 95db max at 50 feet away.

The obnoxiously loud startup sound is the reason I almost always have it off, because I don't want to be that terrible neighbor waking up or otherwise disturbing people with an obnoxiously loud car.

It IS loud, but not in the ‘authentic umph’ sorta way. It sounds weak like an under-powered sound system with what was supposed to be 4 speakers but somehow got value engineered down to w ‘good enough’ 6x9 paper cones.

The idle is pretty nice, something harmonic going on there, but the start up and the engine rev at idle both sound hollow and plastic. The boom in the start is like a paper bag boom, the rev sound thinks it’s a Ninja 750 with a Kerker pipe, ratty and asthmatic. Someone described it as a drunk lion, and that’s fair.

My car has roughly 22 speakers if all the marketing hype is to be believed, but at startup it just sounds like an old boombox. Volume control in all instances would be a huge improvement.

Needs more knobs!!

I haven't noticed that at all on my Charger, if anything I would say it has a bit more umph than both my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT with the 5.7 Hemi, and 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T with the 5.9 Magnum V8 that I've owned in the past.

Personally I love the way it sounds, I just wish the startup sound wasn't so obnoxiously loud.
