Service Electric System - Health Status

Hi all. I am a new Daytona Charger owner as of February 25. I took delivery late in the day. I got to go on two short test drives with a salesman on two different days prior to this and the car felt great. There was no power charger in the car at the time I got it and it was in the parts department - which was closed since it was after 6:00pm.

So the car had plenty of charge and I left my trade there and took the Daytona home. The following evening after work, I went back to the dealership to get the power charger since they were supposed to leave it with the salesman for me. I got to the dealer and I was just scrolling through the Uconnect and all the options and settings while they retrieved the charger. Two other salespeople were watching as i was doing my own little demo with them, and a chime went off. There was a warning light on the left side of the dash. A message came up and went away so fast I did not have time to photo or barely remember exactly but it was something to do with "Service Electric Battery ...." something.

I told the sales manager and he said I could leave the car so that service department could look at it the following day. They gave me one of their used cars to use for the day. I gave them some time to get it looked at. On the 28th I got a message from the salesman saying that warning lights could "keep appearing for up to month as the car gets updates over the air". I was ok with this as they gave me a car to use. 3/5 I get another message from the salesman with the contact info of the service advisor for updates.

Called service department later that day, no updates other than some code for the Uconnect system and one for a battery general warning. 3/12 got a call from salesman manager that some Dodge or Chrysler engineers were out at the dealer working with the service department shop foreman. They are working on a diagnosis. Still waiting for the phone to ring.

Please understand I post this not to say anything bad about the dealer, just my experience after barely one full day of ownership. Is anyone else seeing or hearing of anything similar? Or am I just .the one. ?

TIA

Welcome to the forum @Horsepowerhigh. Sorry to hear your car. Keep us posted with what happens. Hopefully @DodgeCares can help you out a bit.
Thanks. I already received a message from dodge cares, so yes...I agree with other members that people are definitely paying attention to these quirks. I am not upset at this time as I still have my hellcat to drive until it gets resolved. I am just hoping that it doesn't take TOO long.

Sorry to hear about this. Funny you mentioned the hood latch. When I first went to test drive mine, I wanted to open the hood to check things out. They said the hood would not open, they were waiting for a part. I didn't think too much of this at the time. Went back the next day for a second test drive and was told the same thing. Then, when I took delivery of the car, less than 24 hours later I saw the warning for the electricl failure. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to get your car back - today is day 32 for me. Car is still at the dealer service department and I am told a part should be here this Friday 4/4 ...? We shall see.

Wow. Man, sorry to hear that. The more that I am seeing and hearing about all of these electrical gremlins is really concerning. I have not had any other real time driving experience in the car like so many others here have, so there are people that have had other issues (like this turtle light, full shut down or random acceleration thing) that I am afraid I haven't even had time to experience yet. I am trying to stay positive and hope that the part they have ordered and are waiting for will resolve everything... I am ok with the time delay of getting parts and the repairs. The dealer has been great so far. They gave me a 22 Challenger Scat pack for a "loaner" until my Charger is fixed, so at least I have transportation. I just feel really stupid right now because I traded in a near perfect 23 Challenger Hellcat. Time will tell.

So the hood latch was because he "slammed it" a few times. so it probably was not locking due to the whole 12 volt power issue. Dodge has a whole training video on how to close the hood latch. If it gets slammed it breaks off a piece in the latch and it wont work.
Just saw two different reports on that possible problem over the last two days. When the salesman showed me the car for the very first time, I asked if I could open the hood and look at the "frunk" area. I was told that it would not open, and they were waiting for a part. This was a few days before my first test drive. So the hood latch on this car is soon delicate that it apparently cannot even withstand the force of the hood falling/dropping/closing on its own let alone if so.eone unknowingly slams it shut. Yikes.

Hate to say it, but get ready for a ride bud. I am 90 days in for the exact same issue. I recommend making nice with the sales manager and get to know the service manager and even the GM of the dealership would help.

Stellantis Quality Control - FAIL. EPIC FAIL.

Update.

Bought car 2/26/25.

Returned car back to service for an electric issue 2/27/25.

Car sits in dealer service department for various parts, repair attempts and other nonsense until 6/12/25. That is 105 days.

Take car out for test drive on 6/13/25 after work, full charge at 100%.

During drive, battery gets close to 30%, so I head to a charge station. Get to charge station, and there is still 28%. Good to go, right?

Plug into charger and cannot get it to initiate a charge. It's about 2:30am. Car freaks out... every light in the dash comes on. Cannot turn "ignition" off... or on. Like it is frozen in between the two states. Try opening and closing door. Tried pushing and holding start/stop button. Tried pushing everything, nothing works. Finally give up because I am in the.middle of fucking nowhere. With no tools. Or anyone else around. I give up and call roadside assistance. Three times. Finally reach someone and try to explain to someone who cannot understand or speak English very well what is going on. I disconnect with her and try to calm down, and shortly thereafter get a call from someone on our side of the ocean. She clearly and concisely apologized for the situation and quickly dispatched a tow driver. By now, the entire car is dead. Brick dead. I am surprise there was enough juice to pop the door actuator to let me in and out of the car.

While I am waiting for the tow truck, I try to call Electrify America... thinking that there is an issue with the charger that I am using. No luck there, their (833) number just rings more than a 3 alarm fire.

While I am trying to reach EA, someone pulls up next to me to charge their Kia EV6. After explaining to them how horrible this car is, I ask him if he would mind trying the plug at the charging unit that I tried - thinking that maybe I forgot how to plug a round plug into a round hole. NOPE. No issue with his Kia, started to process his charge immediate like it should.

By this time, the sun is coming up and at least I can see how beautiful the surroundings are that I am stranded in.

About 6:45am or so - the tow truck arrives. I remind him that it is an ev and and, and is now completely dead, so this mess is in his hands. He looked at me with a kind of cute puzzled look as I just shrugged my shoulders and said your guess is as good as mine. He offered to try to hook a jump pack to it to at least put it in neutral. As soon as we did this, the dash came to life and read a 26% SOC. I started the car, and it moved on its own. I was not about to take another chance, so i drove it up on the tow truck and let them take me to the closest dealer as planned.

7:15am - loaded on the tow truck, on the way to a dealer service department that is still closed (opens at 9:00am).

Time unknown - a short while later, we get to the dealer. Right where he unloads the car to park it for me, i notice some Free2Go chargers set up at the dealer. There is an open plug, so i said, what the hell.. what do I have to lose at this point. Plug in to the fast charger here and it seemed to work as intended. And it started charging very quickly!. Since lights looked green and things were fi ally looking up, I left it charge back to 80% which i knew would be enough to at least get me back home. As long as the car didn't shit the bed on the way.

Made it back home and sent the photos of my adventure back to the sales manager at the dealer so that i could hopefully make his day too.

FML. 80K down the god dam toilet 🤣🤣🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋

side note

When they told me the car was finally ready last week, after I asked "Really?..are ya sure?? " 2 or 3 times, I asked them if they had completed any and all of the latest updates that were so kindly shared here by @MoparTechJordan . I was told that everything was fine and should be up to date. 🤷‍♂️

I previously made the service advisor that I was working with aware of how helpful he has been for everyone on this forum with regards to our cars. I was not about to take it back until they confirmed that all was well.

Sorry about this man. I don't really have much I can say anymore. I wish I had a answer to what was going on, but it's like dealing with the KGB trying to get information from them.

The one thing I can say is we have another software update coming, supposedly, by the end of the that builds on 11A and 6A1. This should help.
Thanks bud. I appreciate it. I know it's not your fault - you did not design, build or qc these cars. The whole situation just sucks. Small quirks are one thing and TOTALLY understandable with a new product like this. Memory positions not saving... drive modes not saving. Radio functions having a delayed response, intermittent hatch button response, random dash lights coming on but going away right after an ignition cycle reset - all of those are in the category of annoying, but acceptable. But for the cost of these vehicles and the expectations of which they were marketed not being able to trust your car is not acceptable. And my trade in is long gone 😢

That is the kicker, they have been rolling around testing for over a year. Been on the streets 6 months now in a lot of people's hands.
NOT a "new" product any more. They need to go
from :poop:-----:poop:-----:poop:-----:poop:
to :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop:
(get their crap together!)

I blame Carlos Tavares and Stellantis!!! Lol 🤣🤣 they were taking the Dodge brand into a hard nose dive. I will say that overall build quality other than [anything] electrical on this car seems very good. And solid. I would be willing to bet that when the Sixpack cars start to hit the streets they will not have too many issues.
