Possible Update on Charger at Stellantis 5/21 Cars and Coffee?

308 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  305banshee
On Facebook Stellantis posted they are hosting a cars and coffee in Auburn Hills on 5/21 and the post includes a picture of the Charger Daytona Concept. Chances we get ANY update on this car? I'll take any news I can get at this point. It's crazy that Dodge doesn't even have an official webpage for it. Seems like every other manufacturer has a Future Vehicles/Coming Soon/Concept page where you can look at what's in the pipeline.

I think they are hedging mightily because they may want to change the design with new leadership. (I REALLY HOPE THEY DON'T!)
That's basically what just happened with the Chrysler Airflow concept...the incoming brand president just decided "nah" and poof no more Airflow.

I’m gonna be in the market for the next gen Charger or Challenger and getting updates on this thing is like pulling teeth :ROFLMAO:

The design is best part, that would be insane if they changed it! I think it would be dead on arrival if they went away from the 2 door retro muscle car aesthetic. I can see making it 4 doors and still maintaining the retro muscle look, but if it looks like any other jelly bean EV it won't survive.

Seriously I'm getting real close to being in the market for another daily driver and if they don't act quick enough I'm going to have to choose something else. My wife works remotely 4/5 days a week so I can daily her Mazda. They are starting to make her go into the office more frequently and are slowly ramping back up to 5 days a week within the next year or so. I can daily my Scat Pack, but I would much rather prefer putting my office commute miles on something else. The Daytona concept seemingly checks all the boxes for what I would want in a daily driver, but with such little information being available it is hard to say!

It’s going to be a long time. No one has seen any running cars and Stellantis just put a hold on their Windsor battery plant.

I don’t know how Dodge and Chrysler stay around. They literally have a Hornet that is new. That’s just beyond crazy.

Yeah it's not looking good...as important as Hornet sales are to foot the development bill of cooler cars, I think Dodge's future hinges on the success of the Daytona.

Looks like nothing came out of Cars & Coffee outside of the typical “Banshee under the tent” showcase

So when does everybody think we will get a look at production ready version? End of summer or by end of year?

Same! There’s no telling what’s happening at Stellantis. First this was EV only, now allegedly we’re also getting SO & HO Hurricane 6 variants, Charger available as 2 door AND 4 while also unveiling a new Challenger, and they just killed the Chrysler Air Flow EV to go in a “different direction”
